Carol McGehee, age 73, passed away peacefully April 8, 2021 due to complications following Covid in Mesa, Arizona. She was born February 5, 1948 in Elkhart, Indiana to Howard and Jane Willcox and grew up in Parma, OH. Carol moved to Arizona as an adult and met and married her husband, Dave McGehee. She was married for 46 years.
As a teenager, Carol was a competitive baton twirler and a Majorette with the Parma High School band. Carol also sewed and crafted throughout her life and had a home business that exhibited her handiwork at Fall craft shows for over 40 years. Her hands were rarely still. The show organizers lovingly called her the ‘dog wreath lady’, since that was a unique item she sold for many years. She was a devoted Grandmother who home-schooled her granddaughter. Everyone that knew her knew of her love of everything Disney. This love began on a family trip to Disneyland in 1959 and while living in Georgia in 1981 she began annual trips to Walt Disney World. As her family grew she shared her passion with her children and grandchild.
Carol was a devoted member of the LDS church and faith. She is survived by her husband, Dave McGehee, her three children and their spouses Douglas & Heather McGehee, Sharon & Jason Smith, and Brian & Erin McGehee; her granddaughter Amy McGehee; and her sister Barbara McCort. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Please join us celebrating her life Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at 6655 E. Preston, Mesa, Arizona.
