Hilda Mequi, 84, passed away on July 4, 2019 in Surprise, Arizona.

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband Mariano. She is survived by her sons, Lemuel, Michael, and Neil; their wives; and her five grandchildren.

Hilda was born in the Philippines where she earned her Nursing degree and met and married Mariano. They moved to the United States where they eventually settled down in Plano, Texas. Hilda was a nurse at Baylor University Medical Center for 35 years. She then lived in California before settling, at last, in Surprise, Arizona.

Hilda was a strong, loving mother and grandmother with a big heart. She cared deeply for her family. She easily made friends wherever she went as people saw what a sweet and fun person she was. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Hilda is a beautiful person inside and out. We all lived working with her. I loved her endless smile. She reminded me of my grandmother that worked until she was 82 and lived every minute of it. Hilda was so sweet to those babies and full of knowledge. I was just asking about her the other day. She will be so missed. Prayers to all her friends and family. Her Baylor family has and will really miss our sweet Hilda.
