Jerald Edward Sharp was born to Raymond Howard Sharp and Doris Budolfson Sharp on August 11, 1942. He lived in rural Rolfe, Iowa until he was thirteen when the family moved to rural Vincent, Iowa. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1960.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1966, maintaining the radar systems of military aircraft. He continued his career in the computer industry, living in various communities in Iowa and Colorado, working for AB Dick Company, Four-Phase Systems, Wang Laboratories and CenturyLink. In 2008 he retired to Mesa, Arizona.
He enjoyed air shows, flying model planes, hunting in the Rocky Mountains, westerns and war movies, and any good meal. He took people at their word and expected the same in return. In his retirement years he enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends.
He is survived by his spouse of 24 years, Cindy Sharp of Green Valley, Arizona; his children Bruce Sharp (Sue) of Omaha, Nebraska, Lisa Burns (Bob) of Tucson, Arizona, and Darren Sharp (Jeannie) of Olathe, Kansas; his sister Joan Ingwersen (Denny) of Ames, Iowa; his nephew Bill Ingwersen (Leigh Ann) of Marietta, Georgia; and his grandchildren Michael, Keithan, Kailyn and Luke.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Janice Marie Sharp.
Jerald Edward Sharp, age 78, passed away September 12, 2020 at Parkland Memory Care in Chandler, Arizona and in the care of Always Present Hospice.
