John Charles Luddon, 65 years old, passed away on July 4, 2020. John is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (Gutierrez) of 46 years, his daughter, Marisa Ann Perrotto, (James) his son Anthony John (Jaime)and his grandchildren Trevor, Travis, Tyler, Joseph and Jocelyn. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Joan Keller, his father John Luddon, and his sister, Linda Jacoban. Loving brother to Sharon, Nick, Laura, Marc, and Richard Jacoban.
John was born in Venice, Illinois on December 18, 1954 and moved to San Francisco, CA at age 4 with his mother. He lived there until he joined the US Air Force at age 17. He returned from training to marry his wife, Rose and together they started a family while living the military life.
John honorably served his country for 20 years as a Crew Chief in the United States Air Force. He served during Vietnam, Operation Desert Storm and worked on the F-117 Stealth Fighter program. He started his second career in Transportation after his retirement from the USAF. He continued working for 28 years with Transdev North America where he rose from driving a bus to the Regional Director of Maintenance for the Southwest Region.
John loved aviation and pursued his private pilot commercial license. He flew cross country to Kitty Hawk, N.C in 2003 for the 100th anniversary of flight. He later built an RV-10 experimental airplane from a kit in his garage.
John loved spending time with his family and especially adored his grandchildren. He loved to barbecue, drink whiskey and tell stories to make people laugh. He was proud of his Irish heritage and his generosity was boundless.
A memorial service will be held at Rose Chapel Funeral Home, 1130 S. Horne, Mesa, AZ on August 29, 2020, at 10:00 am. Covid requirements strongly limit the number of people who can attend therefore the services will be streamed via internet. A link will be provided.
