It is with profound sadness that the family of Mary Lou Rael announce her peaceful passing on April 11, 2021 at the age of 84 years. Mary Lou was born in Phoenix, Arizona on April 25, 1936.
Mary Lou will be remembered by her children, Fred Rael Jr., Sylvia Monroe (Chuck), Ken Rael, Richard Rael (Karen), Carolyn Nelson (Jim), Becky Vega (Larry), Mary Perry (Keith), and by her 34 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her siblings Nellie Lozano, Raymond Ybarra, Josie Faz (Ray), Ernie Ybarra (Magdalena), David Ybarra (Rachael) and many friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Refugio (Cuco) Ybarra and three grandsons, Mathew Rael, Andrew Rael, and Benjamin Rael.
Mary Lou was fiercely devoted to her family and loved to entertain and cook for everyone. She taught her children how to make tamales and encouraged them to pass this tradition down to their children. She was a master at making people feel special and well loved. She was a dedicated Catholic that was involved with the Cursillo movement and was passionate about her Lord and Savior and Blessed Mother. Mary Lou was a proud business owner of Rainbow Bug Connection LLC, which she and her late husband started over 40 years ago.
Mary Lou was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother.
A visitation, rosary and eulogy will be celebrated in memory of Mary Lou on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 4:00 PM, at Praise and Worship Church, 2551 N. Arizona Ave. Chandler Arizona, 85225 with Pastor Mark Dippre presiding.
The following day on Monday, April 19 at 10:00 AM a Mass and celebration of life presided by Father Jorge Monterroso will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church 1954 N. 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008. Following the service, a procession to Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery at 2033 N. 48th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85008 for the burial.
