Timothy Ian Murphy passed away on the morning of August 30, 2020 at home, surrounded by his wife, Carmen, and children, Blake and Ally, after an extended illness that he battled for almost 4 years.  Tim was born on September 5, 1960 to Matthew P. and Dorothy H. Murphy at Edwards Air Force Base in central California, the fourth of the family’s 9 children.  Although the family moved frequently, they finally settled in central Ohio, where Tim formed relationships and had experiences that shaped the man he was to become.

After high school, Tim worked for a few years before accepting a call to serve an LDS mission in Santiago, Chile.  He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1988 with a degree in Business Finance and worked for Anderson Consulting and LifeCare Centers of America before deciding to pursue his entrepreneurial goals.  Tim established his own real estate brokerage, A Better Broker, and co-founded several physical therapy clinics.  His greatest and most rewarding business venture began when he joined Modern Vascular, where he and Carmen were privileged to work with amazing partners whom they deeply love and respect.

Tim and Carmen were sealed for time and eternity on November 16, 1991 in the Las Vegas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Tim is survived by his wife and children; his mother; his in-laws, Paul and Carmen Murray; brothers Kevin (Robin), Brian (Maricela), Richard (Kit), Allan (Lynley) and Patrick, and sisters Grace, Kathleen and Mary Ann, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Friday September 4 from 6-9PM at the Legacy Funeral Home Rose Chapel, 1130 S. Horne St in Mesa.  Funeral services will be held the following day, September 5, at 10AM, also at the Rose Chapel.  Please join us immediately following the service to celebrate Tim’s birthday.  Interment will follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Underground, to stop child trafficking.

Tim is at once the toughest and kindest man I have ever known. He is, if possible, more than a brother to me. His example inspires me daily.

To my dear boss and beloved friend Tim Murphy.

There are not enough words to express my gratitude to God. I was extremely blessed for having the privilege and honor of working with you Tim.

You impacted and blessed my life in many ways. I learned so much from you. You were an amazing and especial person. You trustes me and treated as I have never been treated before. We became friends…
My heart is broken and finally I am able to cry. It hurts so much to know you won’t be around anymore.
One day you said, “Alby, you work like horse”. I could take a big load!
Since then whenever I accomplished my goals I would send you a horse running lol.
We used to say to each other, “Go get them”. We were always laughing.

    Thank you Tim for everything.
You will be always in my heart.

One day we were laughing and you said, “Alby, I am going to tell Carmen you won’t let me die!
I said, “No Tim, I having been praying and taking to God. I am going to put you to work, we need you!

    Now you are with Jesus.

In name of former Modern Vascular Tse Bonito thank you for all your commitment. Thank you for fighting until the last moment to keep the clinic opened. Together we saved several patients lives. Thank you in name of the Navajo Nation.

    Rest In Peace Tim ❤️

Tim’s positive attitude and zeal for accomplishment has left a mark on my life that will not be forgotten. Tim always looks for a positive solution to any challenge that he crosses. It never mattered whether he was beaten down a time or two, he always got back up, shook off the dust and proceeded to solve the problem. The seven years I spent working closely with Tim in our real estate business were some of the most enjoyable that I had. I am grateful that he has been in my life and left good memories for me and for my family. My wife Toni and I are grateful to have known Tim, Carmen, Blake and Ally. May God hold him close until you are all together again! We love you Tim!

As a business partner I could never had a more loyal and trusting match. As a friend and companion he was a loving man. We had a bond of mutual affection and I will miss him. I know I will see him again.
